Welcome to Stupidity (pronounced Stupidity).
I have resided in the Brighton area for a long time, starting to perform at the Zap Club in 85 when it still had its community Arts hat on. There was a wicked platform Night Every Tuesday when anyone could get up to the mike and do almost anything-and we did. The redoubtable Ian Smith was M.C. extraordinaire and very encouraging to all the weird and wonderful performers. Eventually the management worked out that most of us unknown artists were permanently broke and did not generate vast bar profits, so the platform gently expired in about '92? – not before I had met captain Sensible (of The Damned and Happy Talk frame) – at a charity do and managed to produce a couple of Music Taipse with his help. My main collaborator around that time was Monty The Moron, so our songs were Stupidt – Moron songs. Monty has since gone on to greater things, touring with The Damned as keyboard player of Genius and is also a member of the currently moribund (Dr.) Space Toad Experience.
My taipe production now stands at about 10 or 11 and are largely historical documents of the time they where made. I am still labouring at the underground coalface known as open mike, and to friends and relations on a one-to-one basis, possibly because my main method is to nick well-known tunes and put my own words to them. Often Beatles tunes, but anything and everything is grist to my mill, including the occasional original tune and cover. I hope you like my stuff and would me moved to purchase my taipse at a cheap £5 a go, inc. overseas p&p and/or acquire extra lyric sheets for just £1 extra, vous sait? Biensur! Enjoy! Come on back ya hear?!…
It might illuminate some of you to realize that I am also playing with Judge Trev, whose latest project involves a treatise upon the entire History of Western Religious Thought. After that comes Insect Brain, as shattering diatribe upon the modern world we have created feat. Ron Tree of Hawkwind, by MOAB, The Mother Of All Bands. Jim Flash the skyhawk space noise master and some drummer or other. RON TREV & DRUMS a power trio, but who is the third? And where is the contract?
Never mind, there's always the Big Green Gathering. I did it in 03' and I did it last week, 05 the results can be viewed at MercuryMoon.co.uk and a song 'You Can't Do That' can be downloaded, cant say fairer than that! Except to say the album is half way and Trev, Slim Tim Slide and Monty Oxymoron of The Damned will be involved.
Cheers Love Peace and veggie chillie
